Nerve Entrapments/Irritation

Nerve entrapments can occur in various nerves throughout the body.

Some of the more common locations include Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in the wrist, Sciatic nerve entrapment, Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome, Piriformis Syndrome, Pronator Teres Syndrome and Cubital Tunnel Syndrome. More often than not the nerve entrapment or irritation is due to tight and fibrous muscle, ligament, or tendon which restricts the normal gliding motion of the nerve throughout movement. The nerve can then become irritated or entrapped in the dysfunctional tissue resulting in symptoms of numbness or tingling in the involved area and pain which can be described as burning and weakness of the affected limb. Myofascial treatments have developed nerve release protocols devoted to treating nerve conditions. Other forms of treatment including Chiropractic manipulation, Acupuncture and rehabilitation.
